episode: -> Mendelian Genetics. <-
went for LSM1102 Molecular Genetics laboratory class today.
it was about Mendelian Genetics.
we were supposed to count the number of seedlings (sorghum, tobacco, tomato, and corn) according to their phenotypes, and check against their phenotypic ratios using the chi-square test.
we felt like "farmers" pulling out "weeds" one by one.
(we counted all of them though. @_@)
the different phenotypes include:
1. red stems vs. green stems
2. green leaves vs. yellow-green leaves vs. yellow leaves
3. green leaves vs. albino leaves
4. hairy vs. hairless
5. green, tall seedlings vs. green, drawf seedlings vs. albino, tall seedlings vs. albino, drawf seedlings

sorghum (our group) - red stems vs. green stems
(phenotypic ratio = 3 : 1)

tomato seedlings - albino, tall seedlings (top left) vs. albino, drawf seedlings (bottom left) vs. green, drawf seedlings (top right) vs. green, tall seedlings (bottom right)
(phenotypic ratio = 3 : 1 : 3 : 9)
