episode: -> Rich vs. Poor? <-
One of the few rarer days when I get to go home straight after work for yummy dinner! ^^
I even get to enjoy sweet fresh cherries and blueberries too! :)
The hottest and widely discussed topic these days has got to be this man: Anton Casey.
His warped sense of humour and insensitive comments have gained him more than enough attention than he has asked for, and this includes attention on his family (wife and boy) too.
Sighs, shall not go into the details, but his comments are, frankly speaking, really sad and insulting:
Even if he only meant it in good (warped) humour, this kind of joke is still too infuriating for Singaporeans to swallow silently.
He has since apologised publicly for his insensitive comments about "poor" Singaporeans.
Not to comment much, since he has already apologised..
.. but some folks are still pretty much upset and furious.

However, despite being as angry as you may be, please do not resort to this:
This kind of response certainly doesn't reflect well on us Singaporeans too.. :(
(name-calling is a form of personal attack, please don't do it!)
There was also an open letter written by a Singaporean to HSBC demanding the termination of Anton Casey from his job with immediate effect. This is all very strange as I thought Anton Casey was all along working in Crossinvest, but uh wells, it was entertaining reading the letter nonetheless.

Asians are indeed brought up differently from Caucasians.
We tend to be more meek and tolerant; we have a different set of values and virtues that are important to us, but may be fundamentally different for Caucasians.
All I have to say is:
"Be good to each other."
