episode: -> off-service but occupied buses. <-
when you see a bus coming.
but it is off-service.
yet there are passengers on-board.
(only applicable to SBS buses, in my case)
have you ever wondered why is that so?
i came across two incidents yesterday and today.
(one on each day of course)
1. i was going home from Eunos MRT station/bus interchange.
standard route is to take bus 60.
(i sat all the way in front)
everything was fine..
.. until some drunken guy sitting behind vomited.
yes. vomited.
on who?
not me. or i will murder the guy. -_-"
on some poor indian man sitting just a seat in front of him.
the bus stopped.
and stopped for a long time.
many passengers alighted.
because of the putrid smell of vomit on the bus.
(i was just a stop away from home)
the indian man was trying his best to wipe away all the vomit that had ridiculously fallen on him from the "sky" with tissues and paper towels.
the vomit was all around on the bus where the drunken guy sat.
(the bus captain was communicating with someone at the bus interchange about the condition of his bus)
the bus stopped servicing.
it only allowed passengers to alight after that.
which i did one stop later.
2. i was going home again.
this time from NUS Business School.
taking bus 30 to either Eunos or Bedok, before the next transfer.
(i overslept to Bedok anyways)
everything was fine again..
.. until the bus stopped to allow its passengers to alight at one of the stops.
and then it stopped its engine.
it restarted and stopped repeatedly.
and continued its cycle in front of a traffic light.
(which turns red -> green -> red again during our wait)
i don't know what exactly is the problem.
but the bus captain was communicating with someone at the bus interchange about his situation too.
and he was reporting that the bus engine kept coming to a stop whenever he stepped on the pedal/accelerator.
the person on the other line was telling him to drive slowly back then.
(still a very long way to go; was somewhere around Keppel -> Bedok. @_@)
so we continued on our journey on the same bus 30.
the only thing is, the bus stopped servicing too.
thus it was smooth journey all the way to Bedok.
(which i slept soundly until i missed Eunos)
except when passengers needed to alight.
HAHA.
